WILLIAM HAGUE'S VIEW

Transition Towns, such as Richmond, try to anticipate the end of unsustainably cheap energy, prepare for further climate change, and develop a more localised, more resilient community.

TRY was launched in November 2009. Sometimes we call ourselves Transition Richmond, sometimes Transition Richmond Yorkshire (because there are a lot of Richmonds around). Mostly we just call ourselves TRY - which says it all.

Our first year has been used to build our mailing list, screen films on climate change and transition topics, and start a series of TRY Talks. In future we will set up interest groups in areas such as transport, energy, education and the arts. We've started with food growing - to find out more, follow the Food-growing Forum link on the left.

If you're interested in transition-related events in or near Richmond, visit this site regularly, or click here to receive our occasional alerts. We won't pester you or pass your name to any other organisation. Better still, don't just read our news - contribute!
